My top 3 takeaways this week (including a free course) 🚀

Brian Dean on ChatGPT: “I was wrong.” 👀

Hello, my friend!

How did the last week of June treat you?

Was it more 💻 or 🌴 for you this month?

For me, June was a bit of a whirlwind. I started the month in Europe, flew back to Canada on June 8, battled jet lag, and then spent the next two weeks catching up on all the work.

But here’s the thing I love about being my own boss — when I need to take a break, I just do it.

This past week, I slowed down. Most of the urgent work was done, so I carved out time to learn, something that always feels like a mix of relaxing and productive to me.

Here’s what I dove into. 👇

“Affiliate marketing course for beginners” by Omid

While reviewing material for my upcoming blog post on SEO courses, I found this free gem from Omid Ghiam (founder of Marketer Milk 🥛).

It’s one of the best beginner-friendly affiliate marketing courses I’ve seen in a while 💯. And even if you’re not a total beginner, you’ll still get a lot out of it. 🙌

I’ll definitely be including this course in my blog post, but if you’re curious now, you can find it on YouTube ▶️. It’s a 4-hour-long course and totally free.

Brian Dean says: “I was wrong about ChatGPT”

I’ve been looking forward to this one — a conversation between Brian Dean and Leigh McKenzie (Backlinko’s Head of Growth).

I wanted to hear what some of the smartest minds in SEO think about AI’s impact on search and where it’s all headed 🤖🔍.

My own take on this is coming in an article soon ✍️, but here’s one quote that really stuck with me:

“The number one skill will be creating content for humans and machines.

AI knows a lot, but it hasn’t experienced anything. You might not know a lot, but you have experience to share. That’s your advantage. “

Brian Dean

🔥 So true. I’ve seen it firsthand — the most polished AI content can’t beat real, honest experience. That’s why my personal, slightly imperfect content often performs better. People connect with what’s real ❤️.

If you want to watch the full interview, it’s on YouTube too 🎥.

P.S. OpenAI quietly dropped free courses
