I wanted to share a story about my website that I launched in July 2021.

Surprisingly, it grew to over 6,000 organic visitors with 70+ blog posts!

While I'm happy with the results, the journey wasn't perfect.

Here are 5 mistakes I made and what you can learn from them. 👇️ 

#1: Focusing on random topics

I launched my website without a niche or target audience. It took me a year to discover my niche as an SEO expert and tailor my content accordingly.

Lesson Learned: Define your niche early on. This will help you attract the right audience and establish yourself as an authority.

#2: Hiring people who don't care

I delegated tasks to freelancers, hoping to free up my time. Unfortunately, many didn’t care about the project's success.

Lesson Learned: Do your research when hiring freelancers. Look for people passionate about your niche and understand the bigger picture.

#3: Neglecting link building

As a perfectionist, I put off link building because it seemed time-consuming. While my site grew without it, backlinks are crucial for ranking competitively.

Lesson Learned: Don't neglect link building, especially for new websites. High-quality backlinks will boost your domain authority and search ranking.

#4: Managing two email lists

I tried managing separate email lists for different audiences. This was a waste of time and resources.

Lesson Learned: Focus on building one targeted email list relevant to your niche. This will help you connect with the right people and grow your business.

#5: Ignoring user interface design

To save money, I used a pre-designed template, which didn’t help my website look professional.

Lesson Learned: Invest in a decent website design from the beginning, if possible. A professional look builds trust with visitors and makes them more likely to do business with you.

I am not fully satisfied with the website design, but it looks more professional than the previous one.

Remember, everyone makes mistakes. By learning from mine, you can avoid them and grow your website successfully!
