Feels like we just rang in the New Year, and now we’re deep into 2025. Time flies! ⏳

I kicked off the year by reflecting on my business—client projects, brand collabs, website performance, and newsletter growth.

And I realized something: scaling up without burnout is tough.

That’s why my 2025 motto is less hassle, less effort, more output.

🎯 Biggest win in January

My website made $1,000+!

• $944.04 from affiliate commissions

• $100 for mentioning a reputable brand in my content

I’ll break down my affiliate income in the following newsletter (stay tuned), but needless to say, January was a solid month for my website.

Here’s a quick look at what I accomplished solo on my website in January:

• Published a blog post on “AI Marketing Tools”

• Updated my blog post on “Best SEO Tools”

• Revamped my blog post on “Creator Tools”

• Updated my Medium writing guide, sharing how I made over $25k writing on Medium

• Published a 20-min in-depth guide on “How to Build and Grow a WordPress Blog”

Google’s been favoring some of my content since the August update. So, I’m doubling down to achieve my goal — $20k from my website by the end of 2025.

I’m confident that my content strategy works, even though creating high-value content takes time. You have to optimize it, let it rank, and wait for the results!

My Reddit experiment

I decided to dive into Reddit in January with a few things I wanted to figure out:

• How to keep my comments on top of the highest-ranking posts

• How to make affiliate sales through Reddit

• How to drive more traffic to my website

I left my first comment on Reddit on January 16th, and here’s how much traffic I’ve brought to my website from Reddit by February. Not much yet, I know, but I’ll keep experimenting.

We've talked about my solopreneur journey—from publishing my first Medium article years ago to now running my own online business, helping clients boost their online visibility, and managing my website + digital products.

Looking back at the past five years, it’s been a wild ride—definitely not always smooth. 😅 

But if there’s one big lesson, it’s this: Our success is in our own hands!
